2009 Membership Campaign Options
COUNCIL MEMBERSHIP RECRUITMENT CAMPAIGN OPTIONS
:
We have received numerous telephone calls regarding the National Membership plan “Words To Live By”. The National team under the leadership of Marty Walsh has diligently put together the support resources for this campaign.
Option 1. The Words to Live By campaign. Specific details of the campaign can be found at http://www.scouting.org/wordstoliveby.aspx Councils throughout the region can work together to secure significant media coverage and better promote the Words to Live By campaign in their regional market area due to the general nature of the campaign materials and the focus on the www.BeAScout.org website. This type of collaboration was used successfully last year by a number of Councils within the region and the results were very positive. All Councils are highly encouraged to attend the National Meeting and Top Hands workshops to become further informed. Marketing materials for this campaign can also be seen at http://www.scouting.org/marketing.aspx
Option 2; For those local Councils who have been conducting their own theme related membership campaign using local culture and resources, this option is also available. The National Membership Impact Group would be interested in hearing from any Council’s who are doing this so we can learn about and support for your efforts.
It is an exciting time to be part of the New BSA! We will strive to provide as many options as possible to meet the various local Council planning deadlines. Please let us know what we can do to support your Council plans. Contact Garfield Murden, National Membership Assessment and Planning Specialist at garfield.murden@scouting.org or 972-580-2478.
